Agent Mapping Table

On startup the agent needs to get the needed setup information (e.g. strategies, sensor definitions, and so forth) to run correctly and as intended. Therefore the agent connects to the server and requests the necessary data. The Agent Mapping Table enables the server to supply the agent with the needed data, that is the definition of the environment (synonym for application) and the designated profile to use.

Top Table (Agent Mapping)

The four columns in this table are:

  • Agent name
  • IP address of agent
  • Environment to use
  • Profile to use

In this example the first line of the table holds the following information in prose:

  • any agent with a (generic) name starting with a
  • that connects from an IP address that begins with 188.188.188
  • is to use Environment 1, and from that environment Profile 5

Please note that the use of wildcards is possible for the first two columns. That helps grouping agents by name and/or IP hassle-free.

Bottom Table (currently connected Agents)

The bottom table shows a representation of the currently connected agents. The table columns are the same as for the upper table of this view. In this example one can see in the first line, that an agent with the name of agent1 from IP 188.188.188.25 is connected, using Profile 5 of Environment 1.
