inspectIT 1.5 Upgrade Guide

This document helps you upgrading an existing installation of inspectIT with version 1.4 to 1.5. For a new installation please have a look at the Installation Guide.

With 1.5 we are shipping inspectIT with installers, so the installation process should be smooth.

How to install the new version?

  • Use the installers to install the new version. Best practice is to use a new folder for the installation and integrate the version of inspectIT into the folder name.
  • Starting with 1.5 you do not need a license file anymore.

 

Necessary adaptions

  • The agent configuration slightly changed. The best practice is to copy your configurations into the new agent installation.
    • We increased the string capture length for SQL queries to 1000 characters. 
    • We provide additional out-of-the-box configurations

Things that will not work anymore

  • Old inspectIT storages will not work with inspectIT. But you can still keep the older inspectIT user interface at hand to analyze these storages. If there is enough people, that really need a migration tool, we check if we built a transformer to the new storages (but we did not get these requests yet, so we are happy to further focus on quality and features)
