Host Agent interface and integration

The analysis Java agent already captures system information, but from the perspective of the JVM. Thus the provided CPU information only shows the CPU consumption of the JVM process itself. Well, actually that is ok, as the JavaAgent was built to provide sophisticated Java monitoring (with indepth tracing, etc) and not as a system / OS monitor.

The Host Agent interface - benefit of integrating the data

inspectIT provides a defined interface to write time series information into our data storage. The data can then be used as basis for everything else. We are currently building top-notch anomaly detection on top of the data within our monitoring database. So guess what, your system metric information will be part of it! You can show the system information next to your application information, next to the business/usecase information. In a single dashboard. A single pane of glass.

inspectIT Host Agent integrations

There are already a bunch of system monitoring tools available on the market (e.g. https://collectd.org/related.shtml). We think that we need to provide an open interface to add data to the inspectIT environment and allow to correlate this data and build business value out of it. We thus decided that we want to have integrations that are supported by inspectIT to allow for this data integration. We call them "Host Agent integrations".

Currently we provide the following integrations:
