Currently we only have capturing of exceptions, but we are missing the information whether the request failed (the exception could be caught and handled). Thus we want to have the concept of a request failing (like a flag).
There are multiple ways how we could know that a request fails. We propose to first do a general one: HTTP replies. If the reply of a servlet is 4xx or 5xx the request should be marked as failed. We can improve this feature later on - when we have f.e. the configuration interface by allowing to configure that the request fails if "this exception happens on method x" or a certain method is called, etc.
